I signed 4 clients in one week. Here's what changed.
Hiya,
Today we're taking a break from our normal programming.
I'll explain in a sec. But first, let me tell you about the day I sat at my sister's kitchen table in Perth, opened my laptop for a webinar I nearly didn't bother with, and something finally clicked.
I'd moved to Melbourne from Perth a couple of years earlier and left behind the best group of women in business I'd ever found. The kind where someone actually gets it. The move left a gap.

A colleague pointed me toward Brook McCarthy. She was running a webinar about marketing ecosystems. I was back in Perth visiting, sat down at my sister's table, and joined.
Not expecting much.
Marketing has never been something I loved. It felt like the thing that sat between me and the actual work. Before Brook, my content strategy was... vibes-based.
Want to do a reel about dogs? On it. ADHD meme that cracked me up? Posted. No strategy. No plan. No pitching. Whatever I felt like on the day, and nothing more.
[narrator: this is not a strategy]
I'd been following too many people. Too many voices saying different things. I felt jumbled. More noise, not less. And honestly? I was starting to wonder if I was just not cut out for the online marketing thing.
Brook broke it down differently.
She is a marketing unicorn. Bright, visual, colourful. The kind of energy that makes your brain go oh, I can actually follow this. Her webinar had real structure. Steps. But also options. What to focus on first. What suited your situation. My AuDHD brain, which usually goes into sleep mode through anything too prescriptive, actually exhaled.

That was new for me.
She also said something that stopped me in my tracks.
It's not you. It's the trust recession.
If marketing and selling online feels harder than it used to, you're not imagining it. The Edelman Trust Barometer (a global study on trust in business) found it dropped from 60% to 48% between 2024 and 2025. AI content everywhere. Information overload. People are consuming more and trusting less.
They are still buying. But they need to really trust you first.
And here's the part that shifted something for me. The more effective your marketing is at building trust, the shorter your sales process becomes. You're not convincing people. You're making it easy for them to say yes to something they already wanted.
Brook calls it the journey from strangers to browsers to bingers to buyers.
Her upcoming masterclass, Bingers to Buyers, is about how to make regular sales directly from your content. As a one-person marketing machine.
I signed four clients in one week.
Four. In one week.
[narrator: she was very smug about this. briefly.]
A lot of what I learned came through osmosis, if I'm honest. You know how it goes. Screenshot the thing. Screenshot it again three weeks later when it's buried under 400 photos. Screenshot it a third time because this time you actually mean it.
[narrator: she meant it]
It wasn't that I'd cracked some secret. It was that I'd stopped yelling into the social media void and started making the right type of content. Content that gave people the chance to really know me before I ever asked them to trust me with their money.
The prework. The trust-building that happens long before the pitch.
When the fourth said yes I cried a little. Not because everything was fixed. Because something I had been working really hard at had finally started to work.
That's what I want for you.
Now. Here's the bit I mentioned at the start.
Brook McCarthy makes marketing bright and sparkly and it actually works. Her Bingers to Buyers masterclass is coming up, and I'm recommending it. I'm also going to be there, because she always has nuggets that do something useful for my business.
I also have an affiliate link. I earn a small commission if you sign up through it. I'm telling you that plainly because I think you'd want to know. And because this is what collaboration looks like when women in business actually back each other. We share the good stuff. We trust our people to decide for themselves.
It's a week today. Tuesday 24 June. 12–1.30pm Melbourne/Sydney time. Live online. $77 AUD inc. GST. And yes, there's a recording if you can't make it live.
Go and join now, or write it in your diary. Low cost. Really high return. xx
And if any of this is bringing something up for you, or you've been wondering whether there's support out there for a brain like yours, I'd love to hear from you.
I genuinely love hearing from women founders who want to grow their businesses.
