A love letter to the Sparkly brained business woman
I don't believe you're disorganised, or you're behind because you can't keep up with the masses. You’ve been building your own business, raising a family, and carrying an ADHD brain for so long, you can’t see a way through.
Like you, I am frustrated every time someone slaps the word SUPERPOWER onto ADHD like it's a cape you forgot you were wearing, and I want to chase them down the street with a pizza paddle.
Because yes, there are parts of our brain that are genuinely brilliant, but there are parts that bring you to tears, often shed silently and shamefully behind the scenes.
The times when you need to stay home with a pounding heart, and a metallic taste in your mouth, instead of striding towards new people and new adventures. That criticising, hurtful part of yourself that is loud in your head when you forget to renew the insurance. The moment you feel so overwhelmed that trying to regulate your emotions feels like holding back the oceans edge with a broom.
I want you to have the confidence of a middle-aged white man and know you have everything you need to succeed, right now, just as you are.
I want you to feel your shoulders drop and the breath you’ve been holding, the one anchoring all your secrets in place, finally lets go.
Where you hear another woman – three sentences into a story about why her business isn’t thriving –say the exact thing you have never saidout loud to a single person, and something in your chest unclenches. It turns out you were never the only one who thought like this.
I want you to realisethat you’ve built a business that is somehow both the thing you are proudest of and the thing that overwhelms you most (some days in the same hour), and you’ve found the exact community you didn’t know you were looking for.
So, I’ve created Sparkle Club– a glorious room built for gorgeous brains that are consistently inconsistent, full of business women just like you, brilliant at what they do and overwhelmed by everything else.
These are the women who show up with whatever capacity they have, cheering each other on for the smallest wins, sitting with each other through the hardest weeks, and somehow, without anyone planning it, helping build each other's businesses stronger just by being in the room together.
Your business finally feels steady, structured, and thriving the way it was always meant to, with friends you didn’t know you needed beside you, and (finally!) proof that this brain was never something that needed to be fixed.
As Glinda the Good Witch says:
“You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.”
Right now, I want you to notice how you feel reading this. If it’s excitement, with a bit of fear, that flutter that means something in you already knows:
There is more than one yellow brick road here, choose the one that feels right for you.
With all my love, Mel x
